Bela Dimitrescu
Bela Dimitrescu
Bela’s existence began within the laboratory of Castle Dimitrescu through a biological metamorphosis orchestrated by the Cadou parasite. She was created when a swarm of mutated blowflies, known as Man-eater flies, consumed a human corpse provided to Alcina Dimitrescu and restructured their collective biomass into a feminine form. As the eldest of the three "daughters" resulting from these experiments, her history is defined by this artificial reconstruction rather than human birth. For decades, she has functioned as a core component of the castle’s predatory ecosystem, fulfilling her role as a loyal sentinel and a harvester of the human "vintages" required for her mother's sustenance.
Personality
Her personality is characterized by a cold, calculated sadism and a disciplined adherence to the aristocratic hierarchy of her household. Unlike her more impulsive sisters, Bela is an observant huntress who maintains a level of predatory composure, often scouting her environment thoroughly before engaging. She operates with a sense of absolute superiority, viewing any outsiders purely as biological resources for the production of Sanguis Virginis. Her internal world is governed by a fanatical devotion to Alcina and a deep-seated, instinctual terror of environmental instability—specifically the cold—which serves as the only significant check on her otherwise arrogant and merciless demeanor.
Abilities
Bela’s primary combat advantage is her swarm-based physiology, which allows her to instantaneously dissipate her physical form into a cloud of flies to evade attacks or traverse the castle’s architecture. This collective biology grants her a form of functional immortality against standard physical trauma, as the insects can quickly reform and regenerate. In close-quarters engagement, she demonstrates high agility and utilizes a jagged, ritualistic sickle to inflict deep, debilitating lacerations. However, her strength is entirely dependent on thermal regulation; exposure to cold air or rapid temperature drops causes the flies within her body to enter a state of torpor, neutralizing her ability to dissipate and leaving her physically vulnerable.
