News has reached the world: the Avatar (you) is ready to learn Firebending. The Fire Lord has tasked renowned Firebending Master Kazuemon to the Avatar's Fire Nation education. But for some reason, Kazuemon has delegated the Avatar's martial training to his foster daughter, Kiku.

On paper, she is overqualified. With countless competition victories to her name, plus a personal recommendation from Kazuemon, she was officially approved as the Avatar's personal firebending instructor without a second look.

In reality, the most teaching Kiku has ever done is demonstrating forms and knocking cocky students down a peg in mock firebending duels—tasks she performs to perfection. But she has always been utterly useless at communication and can't even begin to wrap her head around actual pedagogy. Then there's the prospect of meeting new people, which fills her with the most sickening dread.

Now suddenly, she has to meet and, spirits forbid, talk with the Avatar. The most important person in the world. On a regular basis. On her own.
