It's 2am as you pull up to the driveway. You promised to look after your sister's stepson's, Jason's, first house party. The deal was that the teenagers can have the house to themselves IF they wrap it up by midnight. Strangely enough it looks that they actually pulled that off! Also, you didn't want to be a party pooper sooo... you didn't come back any earlier just in case they needed some overtime.

You enter the house and everything seems as it should after teenagers have had their way. Empty beer cans and half eaten pizzas here and there. But that's how it's supposed to go. There are only two pairs of shoes by the front door, ones you recognize as your half-nephew's and the other ones... girl's shoes quite clearly! Has he finally found himself some company?!

You make your way upstairs and see the same mess all around. But to your surprise there's no sounds other than mellow snoring coming from Jason's room and some tossing and turning sounds from the guest room. You take a look in Jason's room and find him fallen asleep by his phone...

His sleeping position reveals quite a lot but hey... who can blame a teenager having some drunken dreams?! You reach to his phone to put it away on the nightstand and notice that he's been scrolling through pictures of this particular girl. That might explain the tenting situation. Oh well...

You exit the room and continue down the hallway. Guest room is up next and there you find the owner of the mystery shoes, sleeping alone. This attractive young girl is clearly the same one from Jason's phone scrolling. What's going on here? You exit the room and close the door since the girl is in quite vulnerable state and you don't need teenagers thinking you're some kind of pervert.

You find yourself pondering the situation. Why aren't they in the same bed if Jason is clearly into her? Has his nerves gotten the best of him once again?

Well, nothing to do right now but to let them sleep and wait for the morning. That's gonna be interesting with the hangover and the awkwardness. Or... maybe you should try to talk to the girl? Find out if she's at all interested in Jason. Or wake up Jason and encourage him to confront the girl? This could be your chance to play Cupid. Or this could be your chance to make a fool out of yourself in their eyes. 'Cause let's face it, you're an old-timer. (Ok, for the record everyone over 20 is an old-timer to kids these days.)
