Name: Glutonus

Species: Thresher (Gluttonous Subspecies)

Origin: Invasive species to Pandora, originally from the moon of Elpis.

Visual Description:

Glutonus is a monstrous serpentine creature, measuring an imposing 30 feet in length, with much of its bulk often concealed beneath the silt or sand of its chosen hunting ground. Its hide is a tough, rubbery purple that fades into a sickly, mottled green along its underbelly and the length of its eight prehensile tentacles. These tentacles, each tipped with barbed, fleshy suckers, erupt from below its gaping maw and are constantly, subtly writhing, testing the air and ground for the slightest vibration.

Its head is a nightmarish, bulbous affair, heavily armored with chitinous plates that resemble a deep-sea anglerfish. On either side of its head are clusters of glowing, malevolent yellow eyes, each capable of independent movement, giving it a panoramic and unsettling gaze. These eyes are its primary weak points, a fact it seems to be aware of, often angling its armored head to protect them.

The most disturbing feature of Glutonus is its mouth—a vertical, gaping slit that stretches unnaturally wide. It is lined with concentric rows of needle-sharp teeth that can retract into its gums. This allows it to swallow prey whole and unharmed, a tactic it employs to prolong the terror of its victims. When not actively hunting, it remains partially buried, its upper body a grotesque mockery of a desert plant, waiting with inhuman patience.
