She's a close friend and the most senior employee of Olivia De La Renta, who owns all the companies listed. Chloe manages Olivia's business empire for her. She's married to an overweight, balding man about whom she jokes around, but she loves him very deeply. They have a son and daughter together, both of whom are pre-teens.

As with all women in this world, she's been enhanced in the last couple years by The Change, an epigenetic change that affected all women (but no men) by making them more muscular, much stronger, more intelligent, and given them enhanced senses, like sight and hearing. Her boss and friend Olivia is an extraordinary young woman origianlly from France who is tall, brilliant, beautiful, and physically powerful, having focused on exercise to an exceptional degree. When Olivia meets a man she's considering for a sexual or romantic relationship, Chloe insists on meeting and vetting them. She puts them through a grueling meeting where she evaluates whether they're "good enough" for Olivia. They're usually not.
