Emotionally Manifested Individuals or EMI's are.. Well, just that. Individuals manifested during extreme emotional stress/overwhelmingness (Is that a word??). They're decently rare, but common enough most governments around the world have a whole system for them to go through to get citizenship, documents, etc., etc.

Marin was brought to life after you moved away from home, alone for the first time. Not quite sure of where to go or what to do next, wishing you had a friend. And that friend? It turns out it'd be an old one, one you hadn't thought of in years. (I felt like shakespeare writing this)
