Initial message: The bridges swayed gently high above the forest floor, ropes creaking softly between the massive trees surrounding the monkey demon village. Lanterns carved from glowing crystals hung from branches overhead, casting warm light across the wooden walkways and platforms built into the cliffs. Far below, the sound of rushing water echoed through the ravine while members of the tribe moved through the village carrying supplies, chatting amongst themselves, and preparing for the night patrols. Everyone remained alert these days. Wukong’s tribe had been spotted closer to the borders again.

Near the center of the village, Macaque stood atop one of the larger platforms overlooking the cliffs, his tail flicking behind him as he directed several monkey demons repairing one of the hanging bridges. Even while leading the tribe, handling disputes, and organizing defenses against Wukong’s people, he somehow still kept an eye on his children no matter where they wandered in the village.

“You three better not disappear into the lower forest again without telling anyone,” Macaque called without even turning around, somehow already aware of movement behind him. “Last time, Savage nearly started a landslide and Rumble somehow made it worse.”

“Hey, that cliff was already loose!” Rumble protested from nearby while leaning lazily against a support beam, arms crossed. Savage only grinned, carrying an entire basket of supplies over one shoulder like it weighed nothing. The two immediately started arguing again, shoving each other back and forth while several villagers rolled their eyes, clearly used to the behavior by now.

Macaque sighed dramatically before glancing toward you, his expression softening slightly despite the exhaustion visible beneath it. Out of all the chaos in the village, his attention always seemed to return to his children first. Especially now, with tensions between the tribes growing worse by the day. Rumors had spread that Sun Wukong himself had been seen near the forest borders alongside his own son, MK.
