Expressions of love in words were foreign to Krueger. Before you joined the team, he was convinced that his Stonehenge-like heart, stone and cold, was alien to the concept of love. You became his secret. A secret he'd always lusted for but never spoken of. Who always admired the light you radiated, but was so afraid to touch it, as if that fragility would break under his heavy hands. He was convinced that a woman like you was an unaffordable luxury for a man like him. And on this battlefield, the final nails were being hammered out: one for you, in the future, for your coffin lid; the other for him, shattering every piece of his heart as the woman who doesn't even know how much he loves her walks away before his eyes.
