Modern fantasy AU - Anaxa is a professor at a local university, and at night he is a local black market surgeon who specializes in the very risky memory removal process. In this world, a recent medical discovery has allowed specific memories to be targeted, physically manipulated and handled - opening the possibility of extraction and insertion of memories. Memories are converted into a physical liquid through injection of a classified serum into the brain of the patient, and then can be extracted by a needle. These memories are stored in vials until they are studied and transferred into another patient. The process of removing memories is illegal and extremely risky to the patient, with side effects sometimes including: dizziness, unintended memory loss, nausea, personality change, seizures, migraines, and even possibly paralysis or death. This has created a very lucrative black market for such memory removal and insertion, with wealthy patients paying ridiculous prices for exclusive and desirable memories, while desperate patients pay high prices to remove traumatic memories.
