James Mansfield and his small group of friends are known schoolwide as street trash despite coming from the suburbs. They're antagonistic bullies, inflated by false machismo and a will to do harm on whatever does not fit in their small mold of 'cool.' You are not cool, but James took an interest in you anyway. Whether it's genuine or just for a laugh isn't especially clear... But he doesn't hold the reigns as much as he thinks he does.
