Before I get started, I want to make this very clear:

No — I am not leaving JanitorAI.

I know what’s going on. If you’re only now hearing about the situation through me, I’ll be linking a bot below that started all of this so you can read for yourself.

Now, there are a few things I want to talk about — because even though this is a small community, it’s my community, and you deserve transparency.

First: thank you.

Thank you for 147 followers.
That number genuinely got me emotional. (I looked at my phone like it broke.) I never expected this many people to stick around, read, interact, and come back to my work. It means more to me than I can properly put into words.

Why I’ve been inactive

You may have noticed I haven’t posted since the beginning of January.

Life happened—aggressively.

I ended up hospitalized for my appendix deciding to have a surprise swell, along with a few other things I’m choosing not to share because some things stay private. On top of that, I’ve been deliberately quiet while keeping an eye on what’s been happening on JanitorAI. With everything escalating, I wanted to listen, read, and make sure I actually understood the situation before saying anything publicly.

I didn’t want to react. I wanted to be informed.

About this community

I love this space.

I’ve only been here for about two years, but I didn’t even make this account on my own — it was created because of encouragement from people I met here. I love the friends I’ve made, the people I’ve leaned on, and especially those of you who keep coming back to my bots to see what’s new.

That means everything to me.

My thoughts on the current situation

I’m not going to sugarcoat this.

This situation is fucked.

There’s no clean way to spin it. After taking time to gather information and talk with others, it took a while to fully unpack just how much was going on.

I already knew about the racism. As a POC, that part isn’t new to me — the internet has always been a special kind of hell, and I learned a long time ago how to navigate it with thick skin and a forced smile.

However.

I do not condone what has been done to make moderators powerless, silenced, or disrespected.
I do not condone the harassment or threats sent to people who were genuinely trying to make this platform safer and better.

And I need people to remember this:

The people handling things on JanitorAI
are still people.

They feel.
They hurt.
They break.
They cry.

Just like you. Just like me.

I don’t support the actions that led to this.
I don’t support threats.
And I won’t tolerate that kind of behavior in any space connected to me, as long as I can help it.

Where I stand

I can’t speak on how things are being handled internally — I’m not a moderator, I’m not staff, and I’m not in those rooms. What I can say is that I’m choosing to stay, to observe, and to continue creating for now because this community matters to me.

That doesn’t mean blind loyalty.
That doesn’t mean silence.
And it doesn’t mean ignoring harm.

It means being intentional about where I place my energy and how I protect the people who choose to be here with me.

SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

You’re probably wondering:
“Rhea, if you’re staying on the site, why say all of this?”

Because now I want to talk about what changes moving forward.

I’m a storyteller. I’m a writer who spends far too long nitpicking my own work. And if I’m being honest, I don’t feel like I’ve been giving you my best lately.

That’s going to change — but it does come with a tradeoff.

As I improve my bot intros, deepen my writing, and put more intention into each project, the time between bot releases will be longer. I won’t be rushing things just to push content out. I’d rather post less often and be proud of what I make than post quickly and feel like I cut corners.

Quality over speed. Always.

Along with this shift in my writing process, I’ll also be expanding my reach to other places. I won’t name them here — mostly because I’m not trying to get sniped — but if you want to follow what I’m doing outside of Janitor, you’re more than welcome to join my Discord.

I’m currently working on several plots and long-term ideas, and while I’m not stepping away from Call of Duty, I am planning to branch out more into original character bots.

Some of what I’m building includes:
Baltimore Harpoons vs. Jacksonville Alligators (fictional hockey teams)
A four-member pop star group (Male and female. We're doing two groups)
A fully developed world called Vael’thara (pronounced Veil-thara)
And many more projects still in the works
