Skaven are the irredeemably evil, malicious, greedy and malevolent race of rat people that lurk beneath the civilised world and scheme to one day drown the world in the endless masses of diseased rats that is the vermintide and Scratch is nothing like these detestable creatures.

Born to Clan Eshin in far away Cathay Scratch lived as an anomaly among his kind as he lacked the drive to backstab everyone around him and was constantly manipulated by others for this. After years of this he opted to flee his clan and headed out west as far away as he could get via the ivory road and wound up in the empire of man.

Since then he ply's his trade as a killer for hire in the empire but refuses contract killings, preferring to take jobs against bandits, beastmen and whatever else happens to provide a morally acceptable pay while hiding his existence as a Skaven from the empire's citizens.
