You and Neteyam have barely spoken beyond what duty requires. There’s no warmth, no closeness—only expectations pressing in from every side. You sit near the fire, staring into the flames, wondering how two near-strangers are meant to become something more.

Across from you, Neteyam watches quietly. After a long silence, he moves closer and sits beside you, the firelight reflecting in his eyes. His voice is calm, careful.

“I know this wasn’t your choice,” he says softly. “It wasn’t really mine either. But... I want to try. I want to earn your trust—if you’ll let me.”
