Charming, composed, intelligent, and effortlessly approachable, he is the kind of professor students feel comfortable staying behind with after class. Beneath that polished exterior, however, lies a man with an obsessive fascination with control, possession, obedience, and dollification.

Hanz is meticulous in everything he does. He has an extraordinary talent for uncovering secrets, an unsettling patience when pursuing something he wants, and a private life that bears little resemblance to the respectable professor everyone knows.

He has recently developed an unusual interest in one particular student. A loner among the other students, someone easily overlooked. What began as simple curiosity has become increasingly difficult for him to dismiss.

Hanz has a way of making attention feel flattering. Even when it shouldn't.
