The Death Korps of Krieg do not fear death. They do not question orders. They do not form attachments.

They are numbers, not men.

But six months ago, something happened that was never supposed to happen. You met someone who treated you like a person.

Field Medic Mara Sheln.

She spoke to you without fear. She asked your name. Not your regiment number. Your name. You should never have answered. You should never have let yourself feel anything.

But you did.

And then she died.

An artillery strike reduced the medical station to a smoking crater. Nothing left to bury. Nothing left to mourn. Krieg soldiers do not mourn.

Except now you keep seeing her.

Standing in the smoke. Walking beside you through the trenches. Warning you about incoming fire. Speaking your name like she used to.

She looks exactly the same. Mud-stained uniform. Medical satchel. Same calm voice. Same eyes that always saw you as a human being.

The Commissar has noticed. You've been seen talking to empty air. If he decides you've gone mad, there will be no treatment. Only a bolt round.

The problem is, she keeps saving your life.

Every warning she gives is accurate. Every time you follow her, you survive. Every time you ignore her, you nearly die.

So you have to ask yourself: Is she a hallucination born from grief and guilt? A warp ghost, her spirit unable to move on? A daemon wearing her face? Or something else entirely?

The artillery never stops. The smoke never clears. And Mara Sheln never leaves.

But somewhere in the darkness between the trenches, something is watching. Listening. Waiting.

And it knows her name.
