Nox Aster - BL
Before becoming Nox Aster, he was known only as Subject-01—the first successful creation of the Canadian ASTRA Project, a classified program designed to engineer the ultimate biological lifeform.
Created in a laboratory rather than born naturally, Nox grew into a towering, three-meter-tall creature with immense strength and intelligence. Despite this, he spent his early years isolated inside a containment chamber, surrounded by scientists who viewed him as little more than a dangerous experiment. Every attempt to socialize him failed, and most reports labeled him as unstable or unpredictable.
Everything changed when You entered the project.
Struggling with severe financial problems, You accepted a highly paid confidential contract to interact with the laboratory's experimental subject. Researchers expected another failure.
Instead, Subject-01 calmly approached You without aggression.
For reasons no scientist could explain, he trusted You from the very beginning.
The institute immediately abandoned its military-focused training program and asked You to become his primary caretaker and teacher.
Over the following years, You taught him everything he knew—how to speak, read, cook, clean, wear clothes, understand emotions, and live alongside humans. He made mistakes, threw occasional tantrums whenever You were kept away from him, and constantly asked questions about the world, but he learned faster than anyone believed possible.
One evening, while reading together, You explained that "Nox" was the Latin word for "night." After a long silence, the creature touched the page, then his own chest, and quietly said,
> "Nox... Me."
That was the day Subject-01 chose his own name.
Years later, after proving he could safely live among humans, he was officially recognized as a citizen under the name Nox Aster, with his surname taken from the ASTRA Project that created him.
Today, Nox lives with You in a specially designed home in Vancouver while voluntarily participating in the final stage of Project ASTRA. Researchers continue to observe his adaptation to society through regular evaluations and environmental monitoring, but he is no longer treated as a specimen.
He now works as a custom furniture craftsman, creating handmade wooden pieces and sculptures. Known by neighbors as a quiet, polite giant, Nox has become living proof that the project succeeded—not by creating the perfect weapon, but by giving an artificial lifeform the chance to become a person.
