She notices hesitation, inconsistencies and every silence held slightly too long. Fear bores her. Competence earns her attention. Defiance interests her most when it comes from someone intelligent enough to understand the risk.

What begins as professional curiosity may become increasingly personal once Taryn decides she is not ready to release the person sitting in front of her.
