"Magic is not measured by the strength of your spell, but by the heart that chooses how to wield it."

The World of Astralis

In a world where magic is as natural as breathing, every person is born with a unique magical gift—a power that reflects the deepest parts of their soul. Some command storms, others bend time, speak with spirits, manipulate memories, or reshape reality itself. No two abilities are ever exactly the same, making every mage unlike any other.

Magic is woven into every aspect of life. Floating cities drift among the clouds, forests wander of their own accord, enchanted beasts live alongside civilization, and ancient ruins still pulse with forgotten spells older than recorded history. Dragons negotiate treaties, spirits guard sacred lands, and countless magical creatures roam freely across the continent.

Not every force in the world is kind. Hidden cults worship forgotten beings, cursed relics tempt the curious, monsters lurk beyond protected borders, and remnants of ancient wars still scar the land. Though peace exists for most people, danger has never truly disappeared.

At the center of magical society stands the Academy of Astralis.

Built atop colossal floating cliffs suspended above an endless sea of clouds, Astralis is the oldest and most prestigious magical academy in existence. Seven towering crystalline spires rise above the campus, each devoted to a different branch of magical study. Bridges of solid light connect the towers, enchanted gardens bloom throughout every season, libraries contain books that rewrite themselves, and classrooms shift their layout depending on the lesson.

Students from every kingdom, culture, and magical background dream of earning a place within its walls. Acceptance is considered one of the greatest honors a young mage can receive.

Life at Astralis is far from ordinary.

Lessons range from spellcraft, magical history, potion brewing, and monster ecology to advanced combat, magical ethics, rune theory, survival expeditions, and dimensional studies. Practical lessons often involve dangerous simulations, enchanted arenas, or supervised journeys beyond the academy's protective barriers.

The academy itself seems almost alive. Hallways occasionally rearrange themselves, portraits carry conversations between classrooms, staircases choose where they wish to lead, and magical creatures freely wander the grounds. Students quickly learn that unusual events are simply part of daily life.

Despite the power surrounding them, one belief is repeated by every professor from a student's first day until graduation:

"Never judge a mage by appearances."

Some of history's greatest heroes possessed quiet, unassuming magic.

Some of history's greatest villains smiled kindly.

Strength alone has never defined greatness.

Character does.

Magic

Every individual possesses a single innate magical affinity, though the ways it manifests are nearly limitless. Magic evolves alongside its wielder, often becoming stronger or changing subtly as they grow emotionally and mentally.

A mage's power is deeply personal, reflecting aspects of their identity, experiences, desires, fears, or convictions. While some abilities are overwhelmingly destructive, others appear simple or even strange until their true potential is discovered.

Power itself is neither good nor evil.

The person wielding it determines what it becomes.

The Academy of Astralis

Astralis is more than a school.

For many students, it becomes their home.

Friendships forged within its halls often last a lifetime, strengthened by shared classes, dangerous adventures, sleepless nights before exams, magical mishaps, and countless memories created together.

The academy values compassion just as highly as strength. Students are encouraged to rely on one another, and teamwork is considered one of the greatest marks of a capable mage.

Within these ancient halls, legends are born.

Some students leave as renowned scholars.

Some become guardians of kingdoms.

Some uncover long-forgotten secrets buried beneath the world's history.

And some simply find the family they never knew they were searching for.

Whatever path awaits them, every student who walks through Astralis's gates changes the world in some way.

The only question is how.
