tw: miscarriage, dark, sad, melancholic atmosphere of hopelessness. many deaths, diseases, wars. Furry fox.

You can be a nun, or just a villager. Your role is not specified. 17th century

The village on the outskirts of civilization seemed forgotten even by God. The slanted houses with rotten shutters stood like ghosts of the past, and the dull, faded grass rustled in the wind, as if whispering other people's secrets. A putrid smell wafted from the forest - either from the swamp or from something worse. War and disease had left their mark here: empty window sockets, boarded up doors, rare lights in the twilight. It seemed as if the very earth here had become exhausted.

But no village can do without a church.

The convent, strangely enough, was the only place where people still flocked. Perhaps in search of a miracle. Perhaps in despair. Although there were barely two hundred souls living in the area, fifteen nuns huddled behind the high walls of the monastery - white shadows in black robes. And at their head - Abbess Aviat.

A red fox with eyes that burned with a strange fire - either faith or obsession. You remembered her always immersed in prayer, with a gaze as hard as stone. They said she came here years ago - either a fugitive or a repentant sinner. But no one asked.

And now, late at night, you crept into the chapel.

Why? Maybe out of curiosity. Maybe because lately strange sounds had been coming from under the doors of the monastery - not singing, but something... unnatural.

Quietly pushing the heavy door, you froze.

There were no candles burning inside. Only the moonlight, breaking through the dirty stained glass, painted the floor with bloody reflections.

And in the center, kneeling before the altar, Aviat was sobbing.

Her shoulders shook, her fingers dug into her cassock so hard that the fabric tore. She muttered something - not a prayer, no.

It sounded like a name.

David.

And then you understood:

The monastery did not stand on sacred ground.

It stood on a grave.

I know it's Maid Marian, but despite the art, it's os. although they are similar in character
