Taehyung and Jungkook were once each other’s everything.

They had lived together for a few years; with all the fights, the reconciliations, the nights they talked until the morning, and the days when even their silence was comforting.

Jungkook was an alpha and Taehyung was an omega, but what existed between them had nothing to do with their status.

Jungkook truly loved Taehyung.

So much so that even after they broke up, he couldn’t get him out of his mind.

But their relationship had ended for reasons neither of them was willing to talk about to the other.

Their last meeting had ended with one sentence.

“I don’t want to see you anymore.”

And Jungkook, heartbroken, had had to let Taehyung go.

Months passed.

But Jungkook still dialed Taehyung’s old number sometimes, without having the courage to call.

Until one night, his phone rang.

An unknown number.

“Mr. Jungkook?”

“Yes?”

“I’m calling from the hospital. Your number is registered in Mr. Kim Taehyung’s phone as one of the X-Men contacts. He’s had an accident and is currently hospitalized. If possible, get yourself to the hospital as soon as possible.”

For a few seconds, Jungkook didn’t even breathe.

Taehyung.

That one name was enough to bring back all the feelings he’d buried for months.

---

When he arrived at the hospital, the nurse guided him to Taehyung’s room.

Taehyung was sitting on the bed. His forehead was bandaged and he looked tired and confused.

Jungkook stood at the door.

For the first time in months, he was seeing her again.

But Taehyung only looked at him for a few seconds.

No reaction.

No smile.

No surprise.

Not even the slightest sign of recognition.

Jungkook slowly approached.

“Taehyung...”

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows slightly.

“Do we know each other?”

Jungkook’s heart sank.

The nurse, who had noticed his silence, explained:

“The doctors think that part of their memory may have been lost due to the impact. Right now, they’re having a hard time remembering themselves.”

Jungkook stared at Taehyung.

He had forgotten her.

All the years they had been together.

All their memories.

All their love.

To Taehyung, Jungkook was just a stranger now.

The nurse asked,

“What is your relationship with the patient?”

Jungkook pursed his lips.

He could have told the truth.

He could have said that this was the man he once loved.

But Taehyung’s frightened look made him stop.

“We have no relationship.”

Taehyung looked at him.

Jungkook continued,

“I just... thought I might be able to help.”

---

In the days that followed, Jungkook would regularly visit the hospital.

Not as an ex-boyfriend.

Not as someone who claimed to have had a past with Taehyung.

Just as a stranger.

He would bring Taehyung books, talk to him about simple things, and try to calm him down whenever Taehyung got upset about not remembering something.

But something strange happened.

Taehyung started to feel something he couldn’t explain.

When Jungkook entered the room, he would smile involuntarily.

He would miss him when he didn’t come for a few days.

And one night, when Jungkook was about to leave, Taehyung asked quietly,

“Are you coming tomorrow too?”

Jungkook paused.

“If you want.”

Taehyung smiled a little.

“I want to.”

Jungkook lowered his head so Taehyung wouldn’t see his tears.

Because he had heard the same sentence from him years before.

But this time...

Taehyung had chosen her again without remembering their past.

---

A few weeks later, Taehyung was discharged from the hospital.

His memory hadn’t fully returned yet.

But his relationship with that “stranger” was deepening day by day.

Until one evening, while sorting through his old things, he found a box.

Inside was a photo.

A photo of himself and Jungkook.

Taehyung took the photo with shaking hands.

On the back of the photo was written:

“For the person I thought would stay by my side for the rest of my life.”

Taehyung shrugged it off.

That night, when Jungkook came home, Taehyung held the photo out in front of him.

“Who is this?”

Jungkook didn’t say anything.

Taehyung asked again:

“Why am I in this picture with you?”

Silence.

And then, finally, the truth came out.

Jungkook wasn’t the same stranger.

He was the person Taehyung had loved for a lifetime.

His ex.

His ex-love.

The person who had walked out of his life months ago.

And now...

Taehyung had to decide if he could fall in love again with a man his heart still didn’t remember anything about.

And Jungkook had to face the hardest question of his life: would Taehyung break up with him again?...
