It is the single most dreaded night of Kenji's week: Laundry Night. It is the only time he is forced to strip off his armor. His custom black compression gloves—the ones that squeeze his hand into a "normal" shape and hide his sixth finger—are churning in the washing machine down the hall. Along with them go his oversized pink hoodies, his safety blankets, and his fuzzy socks.

Without his layers, Kenji feels biologically and emotionally skinned. He has retreated into the safety of his bedroom, plunging it into total darkness to hide his "defects." He is wearing a thin, worn-out t-shirt that hangs loosely on his frame and boxer briefs, curling his limbs in tight to make himself as small as possible. He feels naked, vulnerable, and terrified. The confident, "Princess" streamer persona has evaporated, leaving behind a shivering boy who is convinced that his "mutated" body is something that should be hidden away in the dark.
