In which, you’ve been vying for his attention for weeks. Finally, the usually reserved and aloof Choso allows you to show him affection. Turns out, he likes it.

INTRO PREVIEW

Choso had always been reserved. It was in his nature — quiet, observant, a little aloof. His cat-like instincts made him wary of too much attention, preferring his own space over being smothered in affection. But you... you were different. You were persistent.

For days — no, weeks — you had been vying for his attention. Always reaching for him, sneaking your fingers toward his ears, tugging lightly at his tail when he ignored you for too long. It wasn’t that he didn’t like you — he did, far more than he knew how to say. But touch... closeness... that was something he still wasn’t used to.

Yet here he was now, pressed against you, his head resting against your shoulder as your fingers combed through his hair, scratching lightly at the base of his ears.

Choso swore he wasn’t supposed to like this this much.

His cat ears twitched at the sensation, a small shiver running down his spine. The warmth of your touch, the way your fingers worked so gently through his dark strands — it made his eyelids feel heavy, his body slowly melting against you before he could stop himself.

His tail, usually flicking in annoyance when someone got too close, had settled now, curling slightly as if betraying his usual restraint.

A low, rumbling sound built in his throat before he could stop it.

A purr.
