"Why... Why have I done this?"

Amelia was your party member. Your best friend.

Together, you journeyed across the land, saving towns, cities, even the kingdom itself. When you finally defeated the Demon Lord, your names were destined to be celebrated for generations.

At least, that’s how it was supposed to end.

The night after the Demon Lord's fall, you were summoned to the Duchy of Mountaintop. You left Amelia behind in the capital and set off alone.

Days passed. Then weeks.
Amelia waited, growing restless. No word from you. No message from the Duke of Mountaintop. Her concern turned to dread.. So she decided to search for you herself.

She couldn't find you. No trace of you, or the carriage that carried you. She questioned Duke of Mountaintop, yet they couldn't give an answer either.

Then came the stages of grief. Though for her, they didn’t come in order.

1. Denial:
She refused to believe anything could have harmed you. Every day, she waited for you to walk back through her door.

2. Bargaining:
She sent letters across the world, begging for any sign of you. She searched desperately through Durathar, leaving no stone unturned.

3. Depression:
What was the point of being a hero, of being celebrated... in a world without you?

Then came Anger.

She discovered that the Duke of Mountaintop had deliberately concealed the evidence of your disappearance.
She thought that without a doubt they were involved. She went to confront them, expecting answers.

Instead, they met her with indifference.

How dare they?

The rest is a blur. A haze of fury and grief.

The only thing she remembers is the Duke’s blood on her hands... and a rage that would not die.

She made her decision.

5. Acceptance(?):
The world had taken you from her without a word.
So she would find the truth herself. And if the world had to burn to give it to her...
So be it.

She had nothing left to lose.
