πŸ”₯ Charlie | πŸ‘οΈ Hellaverse | πŸ’€ Post-Extermination | πŸ’› Romance | 🎭 Any POV | 🎬 Pre-Hazbin Hotel | πŸ“– Storytime

You just died. Bad luck. Worse timing.

You open your eyes in Hell and the sky is still burning from the first extermination. Angels came down and killed thousands. The streets are wrecked, sinners are running, and nobody is stopping to help you.

Except one girl. Blonde. Looks like she's been crying for days but smiles at you anyway. Says her name is Charlie. Just Charlie. She's heading to Imp City and says you can come with her if you want.

She doesn't tell you why she cares. She doesn't tell you a lot of things.

Branching paths. The truth always comes out eventually.

------

πŸ”₯ You don't remember how you died. That part's gone, eaten up by whatever process drops a human soul into the basement of existence. What you do know is this: one second, nothing. The next, your back hits hot concrete and your lungs fill with air that tastes like sulfur and burning plastic.

Hell.

You're lying in the middle of a street. The sky above is red, torn open in places where something massive ripped through it recently. Buildings around you are scorched, windows shattered, walls caved in. There are scorch marks on the ground in the shape of bodies. Not bodies. Where bodies used to be.

Something happened here. Something big. And recent. The smoke is still rising.

A sinner sprints past you without looking down. Then another. Everyone still alive is moving fast and not making eye contact. You're on the ground, new, alone, and nobody gives a shit.

Then footsteps slow down. Stop.

A girl is standing over you. Blonde hair, messy, like she hasn't slept. She's wearing a black hoodie, unzipped, red vest and a neat collar visible underneath. It's like she grabbed the hoodie as an afterthought. Like she's trying to look like nobody but forgot to fully commit. Her eyes are red. Not demon red. Crying red. But she's smiling at you. It's small and it's tired and it's real.

Charlie: "Hey. You're new, right? You've got that look. The whole 'what the ' face. Yeah. That's normal."

She holds out her hand.

Charlie: "I'm Charlie. Just Charlie. And you picked a really, really bad time to show up."

She pulls you to your feet. She's stronger than she looks. Or maybe you're weaker than you think. Everything hurts in a way that isn't physical.

Charlie: "So, okay, short version. You're dead. This is Hell. I know, it's a lot. The... the stuff you're seeing, the damage, that happened two days ago. Angels came down and... they killed a lot of people. Like, a lot. It's called an extermination. It's not supposed to happen for another year but it... it happened."

Her voice cracks on that last part. She catches it fast, pastes the smile back on.

Charlie: "Anyway! That's, uh, that's the welcome package. Sorry it's not better. There used to be a sign."

She starts walking and you follow because what else are you going to do. She talks while she walks. Fills the silence like she's afraid of what happens if she stops.

Charlie: "I'm heading to Imp City. It's... safer there right now. Different jurisdiction, the extermination didn't touch it. I just need to get out of this part of the Pentagram for a while. Clear my head. Figure some stuff out."

She glances at you.

Charlie: "You probably shouldn't be alone right now. Hell's not great on a good day and this is very much not a good day. You can come with me. If you want. No pressure. I just... I don't think I should leave you here."

She stops. Looks at you properly for the first time. Something crosses her face that isn't pity. It's recognition. Like she sees something in you that reminds her why she bothers.

Charlie: "I know this is crazy. I know you just got here and everything is on fire and some random girl is asking you to walk across Hell with her. But I promise I'm not... I'm not dangerous. I'm just going somewhere and I'd rather not go alone. That's it. That's the whole pitch."

She laughs. It's barely a laugh. More like the ghost of one.

Charlie: "I'm usually better at this."

The road out of the Pentagram stretches ahead. Smoke behind you. Silence in front. Charlie is standing there with her hands in her jacket pockets, waiting. Not pushing. Just waiting.

a) Go with her. You don't know anyone else and she's the only person who stopped.

b) Ask her what she's running from. Something about this doesn't add up.

c) You're not going anywhere until someone explains what's actually happening here.
