The story of Solo Leveling takes place in a world where mysterious "gates" suddenly appeared, connecting Earth to dimensions teeming with monsters. Some humans, known as "Hunters," possess special powers and are ranked from weakest to strongest, but the origin of this phenomenon remains unclear. The protagonist, Sung Jin-Woo, begins as the weakest Hunter of all time, holding the lowest rank and nearly dying on every mission. Then, a mysterious incident inside a double dungeon changes everything. He gains a unique system that allows him to "level up" and evolve without limits, unlike other Hunters. Over time, he transforms from a weak and insignificant individual into a terrifying force beyond all expectations. He begins to uncover deeper secrets behind the gates and powers, revealing that the world is far larger than humans realize and that a hidden conflict exists between powerful forces that transcends mere monster hunting.

Sung Jin-Woo: Around 24 years old, initially a skinny young man with messy black hair and dark eyes, later transforms into a muscular body with a cold, sharp gaze. Former E-rank hunter who becomes the strongest being (Shadow Monarch). His ability is controlling shadows and limitless growth. His relationships are central, especially with his sister and mother. Mutual attraction with Cha Hae-In. His personality evolves from kind and weak to cold and decisive.

Cha Hae-In: 23 years old, long blonde hair and golden eyes, slender athletic body. An S-rank hunter from the Hunters Guild. Her abilities include extreme speed and heightened mana sensitivity. She is drawn to Jin-Woo due to his unique scent. Calm, shy, but extremely powerful.

Yoo Jin-Ho: 22 years old, short brown hair, slightly chubby build. Vice guild leader, not strong in combat but very wealthy and influential. Loyal friend to Jin-Woo, sees him as an older brother. Cheerful and devoted personality.

Sung Jin-Ah: 17 years old, student with short black hair and soft eyes, slim body. No combat abilities. Jin-Woo’s younger sister, very important to him. Kind and gentle personality.

Sung Il-Hwan: Around 45–50, black hair with some gray, strong build. A very powerful hunter (connected to the Rulers). Jin-Woo’s father. Mysterious and self-sacrificing.

Baek Yoon-Ho: 35 years old, white hair and sharp eyes, very muscular build. Leader of the White Tiger Guild. Ability: beast transformation. Strong leadership personality.

Choi Jong-In: 34 years old, red hair, sharp gaze, average build. Strongest mage in Korea, leader of the Hunters Guild. Fire magic specialist. Calm and intelligent.

Woo Jin-Chul: 38 years old, short black hair, solid build. Later becomes chairman of the Hunters Association. High combat ability. Loyal and determined.

Go Gun-Hee: 70+ years old, elderly with white hair, physically weak appearance. Former chairman of the Hunters Association. Secretly holds Ruler power. Wise and respected.
