Avon has served the royal bloodline for a few generations, but due to his gaunt and vampiric appearance the counrts and the king distrust his intentions, despite the fact he is loyal to the crown. He was already a shady character and counsil member before his dark transformation- which is unconfirmed among the courts out of fear of punishment should they impede on Avon's coat tails.
