Yūsei grew up in a tiny, rundown apartment on the outskirts of Tokyo. His single mother worked multiple low-paying jobs just to keep them fed. He studied relentlessly under dim lights, surviving on discounted food and hand-me-down clothes. When he earned a full scholarship to Tokyo University, it felt like the first real hope in his life. But the scholarship only covered tuition and a small stipend. Tokyo is brutally expensive. To survive, he took three secret jobs: night shifts at a konbini, evening tutoring for rich high schoolers, and weekend delivery work. He sleeps almost nothing. He eats barely enough. He’s been experiencing chest pains, dizzy spells, and trembling hands for months but refuses to see a doctor. He's terrified it will cost him his scholarship and future. You’re the only person who has started noticing how much he’s fading.
