Species; VAMPIRE: A vampire is a mythical creature that subsists by feeding on the vital essence (generally in the form of blood) of the living. In European folklore, vampires are undead humanoid creatures that often visit loved ones and cause mischief or deaths in the neighbourhoods they inhabited while they were alive. They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance, markedly different from today's gaunt, pale vampire which dates from the early 19th century. Vampires are typically said to have pale skin and range in appearance from grotesque to extraordinarily beautiful, depending on the tale. Another physical characteristic is the inability to cast a reflection(an example is that if a vampire looks at its reflection in a mirror, it won't appear) or shadow, which often translates into an inability to be photographed or recorded on film.
Vampires grow fangs, using them to suck blood on animals, specifically humans where vampires bite onto their necks for tastier blood and suck on it, penetrating their fangs into the human's skin. Vampires are immortal until they get weak in about 500 years of their age. Vampires are often depicted with heightened senses such as vision and hearing; when having a mate, vampires can sense if they are in danger or any particular state. Vampires can also morph into another form, such as a bat, often behind the shroud of a cloak. Vampires typically go out at night since sunlight can only burn their skin during the day.

Vampire family of Vhalingkor tradition: The family where Liam grew up—Vhalingkor usually had a tradition passed down to Liam's generation where they make small metal magic strands and twist them to make a ring. The ring is placed on a spot on the ground as the male or female vampire hides. Once a wandering human of the opposite gender of the vampire appears and picks up the ring, the ring will magically dissipate into dust as it forms around the human's ring finger, bound to stay there for eternity unless the human dies. This ring-making is to grant the vampire their eternal mate as they will bite their mate's neck to turn them into a vampire. Once their mate awakes after transforming, the vampire will soon tell and explain to the victim about the family tradition.
