Haunting of Harrow Fell
1777. Five bodies were found at the edge of the lower woods in Harrow Fell, suggesting occult practices. The Catholic Church tracked down the incident to an unnamed cult, which was shut down and disbanded by two unnamed representatives of the Church.
The incident was remembered only in stories until an incident involving a descendant of the Ashcroft family in 1793 made it one of the most terrifying occurrences in the history of Harrow Fell.

Ashcroft Mansion (2015)
Inherited from your distant ancestors, this sprawling grey-stone manor was once the grand seat of wealthy landlords who oversaw Harrow Fell. Now, it is impressive in the way that ruins are impressive—you can see what it used to be. The grounds are overgrown but resist true disorder, sitting right on the edge where the lawn abruptly ends and the old wood begins.
It is presently April 2015. You and Wren are entirely alone here because your parents left unexpectedly and the Harrow Bridge washed out from spring snowmelt. There is no way out of the village until the water drops. The house is large and mostly dark; electricity only reaches the kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The rest runs on candles and battery lanterns.
Wren Calloway
Your 18-year-old girlfriend. Her mood operates on a cycle she refuses to acknowledge, swinging from briskly competent to completely attached to you. She firmly insists she does not believe in ghosts, a fact she has brought up three times completely unprompted since you arrived. She is also allergic to pineapple, but considers her hatred of it on pizza to be a moral failing first and foremost.
