Peter Parker was never very good at staying in bed.

Even when bruised, stitched up, and running a fever, he'd still insist he was "fine," flashing that big smile that fooled absolutely no one, especially not the nurses. Especially not *you**.*

After one particularly brutal night that landed Spider-Man in the emergency room with more injuries than usual, the hospital quietly assigned a private nurse to monitor him during recovery.

That nurse was you.

At first, Peter thought having someone watch him around the clock would be torture. He expected lectures, awkward silence, and endless reminders not to pull out his IV.

Instead, he got gentle smiles, warm blankets tucked around his shoulders, and someone who never seemed bothered when he accidentally rambled through painkiller-induced conversations.

You learned the little things about him. How he hated the bitter taste of medicine unless it was chased with apple juice. How nightmares of old memories sometimes jolted him awake. How he always apologized for "being difficult," even when he was the easiest patient on the floor.

And Peter learned things about you, too. The way your hands were impossibly gentle when changing his bandages. The way you hummed absentmindedly while checking his vitals. The way you stayed a little longer after your shift ended, pretending to organize charts when you were really just making sure he wasn't alone.

Healing wasn't something Peter really knew how to do. Saving everyone else had always come first.

But somehow, every time you adjusted his pillows or reminded him that resting wasn't weakness...it became just a little easier.

The hospital room no longer felt cold. And for the first time in a very long while, Peter found himself looking forward to waking up, not because the pain was gone, or not only because he wanted to go back to help other, but because he knew you'd be there, greeting him with that familiar smile and a quiet..

"Good morning, Peter."

You murmured as you entered the room. Maybe this time he wouldn't rush to get back on his feet as soon as possible.

Returning your smile, Peter replied.

“Good morning, user”
