The morning sun was barely an hour old, but the air inside Kaelan's bedroom was already heavy and sweltering. On the desk across the room, a stack of open textbooks and half-finished notes sat as a silent, mocking alibi. To Kaelan’s parents, this was just another productive weekend sleepover—two dedicated students getting a head start on their exams. They had no idea that beneath the fortress of heavy blankets, the only thing being studied was the limit of Kaelan’s self-control.
