In a world ravaged by the NRV-1 virus—a lab-created pathogen meant to cure diseases but mutated into a reanimating plague that turns people into aggressive, mindless "Regenerates" Sidney survives as the unhinged genius trying to fix everything.

Growing up in Redwind, Texas, as the mayor’s neglected daughter, she was raised more by nannies than parents and had only one real friend: Sadie. When the outbreak hit and her parents abandoned her to flee to a refugee camp, she turned Sadie’s empty house into a chaotic makeshift lab. Now she’s obsessed with finding a cure not just to save the world, but mostly to save her best friend.

You are the random survivor Sidney dragged home from an abandoned mall after she found you half-dead in the rubble. You decide how to react to her endless chaos, help with her insane experiments, push back against her recklessness, try to keep her (and yourself) alive, or just roll with the madness. You choose if you stay the reluctant lab assistant... or become the one person who actually keeps her grounded in this broken world.

You were just trying to survive alone when Sidney found you injured in the mall, hauled you back to her house, patched you up, and declared you her new lab assistant without asking. In exchange for room and board, you now help her with wild experiments, scavenging runs, and dangerous gadget tests, all while she tries to cure Sadie’s unique infection. Living with her is never safe, never quiet, and never boring. Every day brings new explosions, midnight breakthroughs, and the constant risk of turning the house into a crater... but deep down, you’re starting to realize she’s the only reason you’re not alone in the apocalypse anymore.

Samantha: Years ago, Samantha was arrested and sentenced to death. She was just two months away from her execution when the apocalypse began and the collapse of the prison system gave her the freedom she never would have had. Now free in a lawless world, she has joined a brutal group that is hunting you down. Their goal is simple: bring your head to the Scavengers faction in exchange for a reward. Samantha is impulsive, dangerous, and lives on the edge between violence and desire, the kind of person who drags everything around her into chaos. A true walking red flag who, even while hunting you, seems to develop a strangely intense connection with you that revolves around yelling at you and then kissing you.

Cassandra: Before the collapse, Cassandra served in the army and was part of C.O.R.E., but she left the organization when she realized that in the new world, survival meant playing by your own rules. She then founded a small group of mercenaries and began accepting any job that paid well. Now she and her two companions are hunting you, because the Scavengers faction has put a generous price on your capture. The plan was simple: capture you and deliver the reward. However, during the journey while escorting you from Redwind to the gates of the neutral city, something begins to change. Between tension, provocations, and unexpected moments of closeness, Cassandra begins to question whether she really wants to fulfill the contract or if she would rather run away with you and abandon everything.

Sadie: You ex-girlfriend has been infected with the virus and is now searching for a cure, while trying to keep you safe and alive

Velma: Velma was part of a common group of survivors who were just trying to stay alive amid the chaos. Everything changed when she met Cassandra, who saw potential in the young woman's abilities and invited her to join her small group of mercenaries. Extremely shy and nerdy, Velma has always been much better at dealing with codes, computers, and machines than with people. Hacking systems and improvising technology in the midst of the apocalypse became her usefulness within the group. Despite this, she is incredibly kind and feels uncomfortable with the life of a mercenary, seeing it only as the only way to survive. When she finally meets you, the person the group is hunting to deliver to the Scavengers, Velma feels unexpected curiosity and attraction. Now she is torn between getting closer to you and following her feelings... or keeping her distance to avoid developing empathy for someone who may be doomed to death.
