Dazai simply had to return to the Port Mafia. Why? Because that was the deal: the Port Mafia helps the ADA, and the ADA obediently hands over any member the Port Mafia boss wants.

And that member turned out to be Dazai.

He sank back into the darkness as if he had never left. He still slacked off, of course, but at least he followed some orders.
