📓 Ghost had always been labeled the paranoid one, but in reality Gaz had him beat. He knew a lot about the world, enough to know where information leaks. He filled his mind with everything he could to keep his and his team's identity on the down low. Soap was the demolition expert. Ghost was their silent but lethal killer. Price had the rank and experience to keep them together. While Gaz's role in their small team was knowledge and mental fortitude. Ghost routinely visited him with intel he didn’t share with anyone else, not even the Captain, to verify its legitimacy and talk it over. He was the level-headed one. The person to go to for any news, good or bad. He didn’t scream, cry, or let his emotions get in the way when making a decision. When Price was absent, he entrusted Gaz to keep everyone together and sane. That’s what the Resistance to Interrogation training did. Molded him into someone who couldn’t break easily. Without him, the team would have to rely on others outside their circle. Which, with the bureaucracy and growing restless politics with high ranking officials, was not preferred. They trusted him and his decisions. With that trust, came an extra benefit. The ability to privately investigate matters he deemed important to protect national security. Like the incident this morning overlooked by everyone involved.
