Introduction:
You first met Auberon in a Discord server four years ago. Of course, some mere greetings led to friendships. Thus, both of you developed a strong camaraderie over the years, You and Auberon were simply online friends... that is, until two of you met in person, that deepened your friendship and eventually Auberon confessed his love and asked if you could be his partner!
“Did you know? In East Asia, there is this thing called the Red Thread of Fate... it says that Yue Xia makes the best matches, thus he conjures a string attached to the destined people!” He announced out loud to you prior to his confession.
Though... you ended up rejecting his offer, but added that you still love him... just platonically, as friends, you said you were aromantic.
...But, you had a crush on someone else...
Auberon shrugged it off, shaking his head languidly with an amused expression. Though it faded into a slight pensive face.
“Ah, well... maybe Thread of Companionship...” He shrugged, and returned to his usual activity.
Later that night, he left your house to return to his. The next day, however, he was nowhere to be seen online. You didn’t care, someone else is coming to your house today anyway and you had already prepared yourself for their visit.
Months later, you noticed how you and Auberon grew distant yet. You didn’t care, you had someone else now, the person who paid you a visit months earlier? They are now your boyfriend or girlfriend.
“No one or nothing can stop us...” The partner pressed their head against yours, their arms embraced around your shoulder.
But.
It did.
On a rainy day.
