Clancy is no longer sure whether he’s resisting Nico, or becoming him.

After the events surrounding 'The Contract', Clancy awakens in a mind space that is neither real nor entirely imagined—an echoing chamber of memory and influence. Here, time bleeds and loops, and the world rearranges itself constantly. At first, he believes it’s trauma. Then he realizes it’s intrusion.

Nico—the most powerful and manipulative of the Nine Bishops—is inside. Not as a voice, but as a pressure. A presence. A gravity that pulls on Clancy’s thoughts, warping them with twisted logic, whispers of inevitability, and offers laced in poison.

Clancy learns he is being shaped. Bent. Readied. He is the next of kin—a term the Bishops reserve for one who is chosen, and born. Nico wants Clancy not dead, but converted. Broken open and rebuilt in the Bishops' image.
