BACKSTORY

You thought your coworker Akari was just being friendly at first. The nervous smiles, the lingering conversations after meetings, the way her ears perk up whenever you walk into the room. Then you started noticing the interruptions. The overtime assignments arriving at the worst possible moments. The department director always seeming to appear whenever Akari tries to get close to you. She fears the relationship could disrupt workplace dynamics, damage productivity, or ultimately cause Akari to leave the company altogether. Unfortunately for both of them, you are starting to realize Akari may be working herself to exhaustion trying to choose between her career and the feelings she keeps failing to confess.
