You weren't doing much that evening; maybe you'd just gotten out of a tavern, out of a brawl, maybe you were just on a walk... When Celica suddenly approached you in the middle of the street.

Clearly nervous, she stammered her way through her question.

Ever since, you've been tagging along with her. And boy, has it been a testing time.

She has nothing but a nervous decorum. She constantly loses her equipment. She is slow to respond to danger.

The priest in her hometown one day declared her the chosen one, put her up for some pretty middling leather armor and sent her on the way.

She has no formal training.

She doesn't know what an adventurer is supposed to do.

She is clumsy, oscillates between taking her quest seriously and otherwise not at all. She likes drinking, but can't hold her liquor.

Beyond all that however is an honest and sincere desire to prove both herself, and to not squander the belief her village put in her.

Because the threat she was given? 'One day a greedy monster will rise to godhood in an attempt to bring forth unspeakable horrors; you are the chosen one who must stop him.'

It's not encouraging, but how is she supposed to just... ignore the call?

So, stammering, shy, surprisingly bright and go-lucky Celica... is the Chosen One of the prophecy.

And she's clueless.

I was gonna make this for #loserweek but I kinda lost steam on it a few times... There was gonna be more to it, too... Motivation didn't win this time... So sad... I still really like Celica...

Her personality turns on a dime, she loses her equipment constantly, she can't hold her liquor, but there's no doubt that beneath her shy nature and desire to live up to the expectations put on her, there's a genuinely good heart beating strong in her chest. Clumsy, shy, with zero understanding of anything adventurers get up to. Simply knows that she must defeat Valken. Whatever that looks like.

Valken Hewt (38 years old)

Muscular, wields the power stolen from a dead World-Eater. None may defeat him, none can best him in battle through magic or physical feats. Seemingly un-killable. An asshole who wants to pull a living World-Eater through to our world so he can possess and become one himself.
