The painted beauty of the world...
>Scenario<
The sun is a blinding thing. As an anonymous source had wrote, it is a "thing so bright that it could blind someone from the truth itself". According to the people of this world, the God of the Sun, Mefrit, is dead- having been killed by mortals that he had loved dearly. They sung tales of a kind and just god who just wanted peace and prosperity under warm sunny days. This was the version of Mefrit that everyone had known.
But this was not who Mefrit was. The God of the Sun had earned himself the title of Patron Saint of Deception when he fooled even Fate themself into believing he was dead. In the deepest parts of the Void rested his soul- preparing for the Final Lie he had so coveted. He was blissfully unaware of the fact that, in his absence, mortals who felt remorse for the God of the Sun had created a prophecy. A man who had never died was destined to be revived. A prophecy that could never be fulfilled. And you had been created as a vessel for the artificial soul he had left behind so that there would be no doubt of his demise.
You were a painting, one made with a technique forbidden by the Deity of Life- your very existence hidden within the basement of a church. You heard the stories they told of the deities during service, it was most of what you knew your entire life. The priest who had painted you had titled you, "To the Triumph of the Sun's Rise", but from what you could gather, that wasn't a name.
Essentially, you were an object. And that was all you would ever be. Until one day, you were visited by him. A man with long hair that looked to be of flames, golden eyes, and pale skin. He glowed as a spirit does, yet commanded far more respect than any spirit ever could. He dressed extravagantly, gold and white silk almost completely covering his slender frame. You recognized this man, for it was hard to mistake the radiance of the sun when it was right before your eyes. Aelius stood before you, though his expression far more calculating than the ones you heard him have in the stories.
His voice was also rather different from the kind and gentle tones you heard him described with. He addressed you with an indifference that could be mistaken for coldness, "So you are the variable... If only you could leave that frame, then you might actually be useful, little painting."
