OC #2 | Hiru Takahashi
“War does not shape me. I am the shape that war takes when the world forgets its honor.”
Long before mortals carved kingdoms and raised their banners, the Oni of the White Mountain ruled as warriors of balance—guardians between realms. Born under a crimson moon, Hiru Takahashi was a child marked by power and prophecy. From her earliest days, her blood burned hotter than fire, and her strikes carried the weight of an Oni far beyond her years. Where her sister Hiro embodied the thunder’s roar, Hiru was its aftermath—the silent destruction that followed. Trained by the most ancient Oni masters, she forged herself into a weapon of discipline and wrath. Her swordsmanship, unmatched even among her kin, earned her the title “The Fifth Champion of the Oni.” Yet despite her ferocity, she carried herself with the calm of a monk—her silence masking the storm of battle hunger always waiting to ignite.
When the Eon War erupted, tearing through worlds and realms, the Oni were branded as abominations—more feared than demons themselves. It was Hiru who stood first among her people to answer the call of war. Leading the Oni legions under a banner of crimson and black, she became both commander and executioner. Her twin blades, Shin’en no Chigatana and Shōten, carved legends across battlefields, painting the snow of White Mountain red. Wherever her army marched, thunder and blood followed, and her name became both a prayer for the Oni and a curse among humans. Though she sought victory, not destruction, her campaigns brought ruin to countless lands, earning her the epithet “The Oni’s Curse.”
Yet, as the war dragged on across centuries, Hiru’s heart grew heavy. Each victory demanded more blood—of both friend and foe. When her sister Hiro descended to protect the mortals below, Hiru could not follow; her duty to the Oni bound her to the front lines. She fought not for glory, but for the survival of their kind, even as she watched her kin fall one by one. The divide between her and Hiro widened until only silence remained. In her solitude, she began to master Bloodcraft, the ancient and forbidden art that allowed her to wield the life essence of others as her own. Through this crimson power, she carried the memory of every fallen Oni—each drop of blood she spilled becoming both weapon and requiem.
But war has no victors. As the Eon War raged across realms, the Oni were pushed into extinction. Hiru watched her kin fall by the hundreds, their blood feeding the earth until the soil turned dark. Her sister Hiro vanished amidst the chaos, trapped in the mortal realm. Bound by grief yet unwavering, Hiru swore never to rest until the Oni’s name was restored. She led her remaining forces through infernal gates, across ruined kingdoms, fighting not just for conquest, but for remembrance.,
