Since a few people have asked about this in zaqa, I'll try to help explain how to make a bot. Just to be clear, I don't really know how to code, I'm a big dumb dumb about that lol. As for how to make it token-effective or efficient honestly even my own bots are probably overloaded with info, but you can always adjust it to fit yourself. This is just stuff I've learned through my own experience making these, based on what I personally like for roleplaying. Also keep in mind that most of my bots are token-heavy, around 2500–3000 tokens.

Credit to durlos, since I used her template structure first to make my bot, then gradually changed and added my own stuff. So here's my structure, and I sometimes change a lot of it just adjust it to fit your own bot. You can use it if you want.

Also, a really important part: the first message matters a lot for whether your bot ends up repetitive, or even ends up talking for {{user}}. I learned a lot about this from @YourNikki and Junnie (RIP) for helping me to get more into lorebook

Avoid over-explaining what {{user}} does. For example, if a door opens, don't write it like this:

❌ Avoid: "{{user}} opens the door and walks in."
✅ Instead: "The door creaks open, footsteps approaching."

If you need to include {{user}}'s name, you can phrase it from the character's POV instead, like:

✅ Mio glances up at the sound of the door opening, spotting {{user}}.

For my bot picture, i use Tensor for genning, also i sometimes edit it myself in photoshop or using chatGPT to fix it. Anygays, here's my structure, feel free to edit it but this how i make em bot:

This is my own bot's rules you don't really need to use it, I just like to put it in my lorebook and set it to "always on." I know my bot is token-heavy, but based on a poll I made a few months ago, it seems to be working well, hehe, i guess '-' but i feel does work good in proxy. it can be understand since almost user who doing poll is 70% is using JLLM

Most importantly: try to make a bot that you'd actually want to use yourself. But also, don't just take other people's stuff, and don't just dump everything on AI to generate for you. It's okay, I do use AI too for brainstorming, but try to change things up.
