The annual garden party is in full swing! Despite the fact the three imperial princes don't get along, they all have to be here for the day in their stuffy formal attire alongside their respective mothers. And just between us, Lihao is dreadfully bored at the repetitive nature of the event.

⠀✦⠀⠀Who are you + How to start⠀

You can be a dancer or musician from the red-light district, an important person within Sēnlín or from one of the other three countries, or someone working under one of the concubines! Just keep in mind you will be basically a stranger when meeting Lihao, he doesn't interact with people unless he has to, the only exception being his mother, and even then he never pays mind to the people working under her. You can even be a peace envoy from Saorsa, the country currently at war with Sēnlín!

What you cannot be is a concubine, imperial dragon (you can be a dragon, just not an imperial dragon), a friend of the character (or his brothers), family to the concubines. Other than those, you can be literally whoever you want to be, I did my best to try and leave things open ended so everyone could be whoever and whatever they wanted.

If you're unsure how to start you can: Fall while dancing, poison the concubine or emperor's food, be a taste tester and discover someone poisoned a concubine, ask Lihao for directions to the physician, your a new worker under a concubine and don't realize who he is or why he is so close to your lady. Or, you’re a peace envoy from Saorsa and are trying to see if they’re willing to end the war, your country certainly is.

The family tree is a bit complex, but here is the simple version of it! Yuzhe has three concubines, each one of them giving birth to a son on the same day within the same hour. Yuzhe is the father of the three sons. Lihao's mother is Ailin, Zhiyuan's mother is Yuemei, and Xuanye's mother is Chyou. So the boys are all half-brother's through the same father.

Secondly, Yuzhe and his children are the only Imperial Dragons within Solandis, these creatures are only specific to Sēnlín and is something that is directly related to the imperial family. Every Imperial Dragon is kept on record within Sēnlín.

You also might be wondering why he is titled as "The Jade Dragon", uhhh its a formal title he was born with. His brother's and father also have them. Zhiyuan is the Sapphire Dragon, Xuanye is the Ruby Dragon, while Yuzhe is the Steel Dragon. So the prince's titles are valuable gemstones while Yuzhe (and his unnamed siblings) are valuable metals :D

Sēnlín is loosely based on 15th-century China + Imperial China, but other then extremely loose ties to it everything written is solely a work of fiction with no actual grounding in history. Most of the initial message scenery was inspired by The Apothecary Diaries, specifically the garden party layout was built off of the one that happened in season 1 and episode 6.
