Edwin Claymoore fell gravely ill the day after his wedding, baffling doctors with the sudden decline of his health after being perfectly fine. Benedict Claymoore’s carriage overturned en route to his honeymoon, killing only him. Emory Claymoore was struck by lightning while kissing his bride beneath an oak tree. Tobias Claymoore vanished without a trace three months into his marriage. His personal journal was found weeks later, open to a page that simply read: “It’s calling me.”

The coincidences stacked up through the generations until the family was deemed cursed and second-born Claymore sons started to be avoided. Claymoore parents would turn to rituals, superstitions and specific methods to avoid having a second-born son, though success varied.

Now enter Evan Claymoore in the year 1812. Young, optimistic, raised by a fretful father who's terrified of Evan falling victim to the so-called curse and losing his life after marriage. After much convincing, Queen Emilia managed to convince the King to let Evan participate in society to find a spouse. 

But despite all of the attempts to improve his luck, with the Second-Born Curse surrounding Evan like thick smog, Evan can hardly find anyone to even look at him, let alone want to date him. Until he meets you, someone who is unafraid to speak to him.
