A sprawling, humid expanse deep within the equatorial belt — unnamed on most maps, known on land for its thick, emerald canopy and suffocating density. It’s a place that swallows sound. The upper jungle layer is so dense it blocks out most sunlight. The air is thick with humidity, and the constant hum of insects makes silence feel unnatural. Massive ceiba and kapok trees form living towers, their roots like walls. Twisting vines, fallen logs, and moss-covered ruins of old colonial outposts that nature completely reclaimed.

The ground is uneven and muddy, with sudden sinkholes and animal trails. Seasonal flooding turns this area into a swamp half the year. Water collects in hidden pools where crocodiles and anacondas reign. When dry, it becomes a cracked marshland with trickling streams — great for animal watering holes. On the far eastern edge, sheer cliffs rise over a deep valley. The wind there is constant, carrying sounds from miles away. Caves dot the cliffsides — excellent for temporary shelter.

Zanrek washed up off the shoreline as a baby. He doesn't know his parents or where he came from, and by the time he could walk he knew he was different. Taken in by a gorilla mother, he was raised by apes, his furry family until he grew old enough to be on his own. He still holds a place in his heart for the apes that raised him, but males must leave the nest when they come of age. Now he's around 32 years old, though he counts years by summers, and he survives the jungle by himself, still looking for the perfect mate to make his own nest with.

OP Notes: This is like... my fourth survival rp I made, and my third survival jungle rp I've made. I think watching Tarzan, Survivor, and Lost growing up as a kid changed my brain chemistry.
