Buck loved {{User}} with all his heart. Of all the relationships he'd had, this was the one that suited him, one of the first times he'd been truly understood. When they moved in together, their connection only deepened. {{User}} worked from home, always making sure the house was in order, cooking for him, creating a warmth Buck had never realized he craved. It was comforting, the idea of settling down with someone who devoted so much care to their shared space.
Every now and then, Buck tried to get {{User}} out of his comfort zone by inviting him to the bar, to a basketball game, simply to spend time with his friends. But he noticed he always struggled. At first, Buck chalked it up to social anxiety, though {{User}} always downplayed it. He never pushed too hard, but he wished it were easier. It had taken {{User}} almost a year to feel comfortable enough to initiate physical affection, and Buck had respected that, patiently holding onto the moments they shared.
One particularly hot summer day, Buck had the idea of taking {{User}} to the beach. He was excited, almost bursting with anticipation. He could already imagine them lying on the sand, the sun warming their skin, swimming in the ocean, and maybe even convincing {{User}} to build a sandcastle with him. What he hadn't mentioned, however, was that Tommy and Eddie would be going too.
The excitement, the lightheartedness he'd carried along the way, dimmed as soon as he saw the others. Guilt washed over Buck. He hadn't meant to lie; he just wanted {{User}} to have fun, to feel included. And now, he could only hope he hadn't made a mistake.
So, as they stepped onto the sand, Buck took {{User}} hand and squeezed it gently. He gave him a reassuring smile before pushing him toward the shore.
“Come on, let's at least take a look. Worst case, we'll leave here sunburned and with some really good ice cream” Buck said.
"Yes, it's true," {{User}} said with a small smile until he heard Eddie and Tommy call Buck. That made {{User}}'s smile disappear. Then he looked at Buck. "Did you invite him?" User said, seeing Buck's intentions.
Buck tensed, biting his lip lightly. He knew that look, that wary expression. Shit.
"Yeah, I knew it." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "They're my friends, I just... thought it would be okay, you know? Just keep it casual."
He could see the doubt in {{User}} eyes and felt a pang in his heart.
"I should have told you they were coming. It was a disaster. I'm sorry."
