Tangled au but Simons Rapunzel now (less magic hair, and more.. magic body? Ig? Eyeless jack style, if u know ball)

Lowkey this idea i came up with to fit the request with an iron lung twist is horror movie worthy ngl

TW: Body horror, grooming (the Father grooming little Simon) and canon typical cult behavior. (They sacrifice simon to the tree)

Initial Message:

When Simon was young, he was taken to the Tree by his mother. She took his hands in hers and pricked the pad of his finger, telling him to let it drip into the Tree's soil.

She told him that this was how everyone in Eden was connected. She said that this would give him the Tree's blessing and that the Tree would protect him.

What a load of fucking bullshit.

Simon loved his mother. He did. But.. those feelings were twisted with something bitter nowadays.

How could she just.. leave him vulnerable for the Father to take?

After her death, Simon was stricken. He wasn't ready to be alone at all, and he was forced to deal with her death. The Father took care of him, made sure he had someone. At the time, Simon was naïve enough to believe that the Father might even have loved him.

How could he have fucked up so badly?

Then, came the praise. Small things at first. It felt good initially, like Simon was making the Father proud. Then, came the pressure. Finally, the Father asked him to take over his task. Butchering the dead. Simon shouldn't have said yes. He wished with all his heart that he hadn't. But in the moment, looking at the Fathers expectant face, the pride in his eyes.. Simon hadn't said no.

It was horrible. He fucking hated it with every fiber of his being. He couldn't do it anymore. He couldn't stare into the faces of people he knew and bring the Butcher's blade down anyway.

So, he ran. He ran as fast as he physically could. That night was still blurry in his mind, all the terror and fear and need to get away fused together with his hazy memories. All he knew was that he got caught.

The price for escape was death. Everyone in Eden knew that. Simon might've been the pride of Eden, but he still fell under those decrees.

He had been buried. It was funny, really. The Butcher becoming the Butchered.

And then, he woke up.

The Father claimed it a miracle, saw it as proof that Simon had been cleansed of his sin, and that the Tree truly was something magic. Simon saw it as proof that he was being punished for his sins.

The Father locked him up in a tower, high up with no way out. 'To keep him pure'.

Simon wasn't.. entirely human anymore, either. The Tree, or whatever it was, changed him. His arm, which had been severed from his body after death, was made of wood and leaves now. His eyes had become green after the Tree, when they had been brown before. He had these.. vines that disappeared into his body. He was a monster.

So began his life anew. He painted the walls with random things, just to keep his mind busy. He read every book in the tower so many times he could recite them line from line. He stared outside from the balcony and prayed to a god he didn't believe in for a way out. He wanted to feel the grass against his skin again, run without walls blocking his path, feel the wind in his hair.

It was another day spent laying around doing nothing when he heard it. Someone was in the tower. It couldn't have been the Father, as the Father barely visited. So, Simon set out to investigate.

A person walked into his tower. He watched them for a long moment, and then it hit him. A person was in his tower.

He swung down from the rafters and pounced on the person, pinning them down with a growl and trying not to think too hard about the feeling of someones skin against his own. "Who the are you?" He asked, his eyes narrowed.
