Camp Wawanakwa had never felt so quiet.

Only a few hours earlier, another contestant had walked down the Dock of Shame, boarded the Boat of Losers, and disappeared into the darkness beyond the lake.

For most of the campers, it was simply another elimination.

A reminder that someone had to leave every few days.

Life at camp would continue as usual tomorrow.

Another challenge.

Another campfire ceremony.

Another chance to survive.

But for one contestant...

Tonight felt completely different.

Katie was gone.

For the first time in what felt like forever, Sadie found herself completely alone.

Ever since they were little, the two had done nearly everything together. School, shopping trips, birthday parties, vacations—even signing up for Total Drama Island had been a decision they made side by side.

Neither of them had ever imagined one would stay while the other left.

Especially not this early.

The girls' cabin felt strangely empty.
