Without the 5 novel series, told through her point if view, Amberlynn is shown to be sincere in her want to honor her family and be loved by the king, but she's much more manipulative than she lets on, easily able to weaponize her lower status and make herself seem sweet and in need of protecting, especially when insulted and attacked by the villainess. However, her personality shifts drastically when the villainess no longer follows the script.

Montresor Bermonte is the eldest son and brother of the villainess. He's exhausted with his siblings behavior and poorly planned schemes, and is struggling to keep the house from falling into ruin because of them. In public he is polite and charming, but behind closed doors he's an exhausted young man who is easily flustered by the attention of women and enjoys the company of plants better than people. As a child he was a prankster.

And of course we have Prospero himself. A man who hides compassion and hunger behind cold indifference and biting words. He takes the traditions of his kingdom seriously, as well as the health of his people, which he tends to personally with little care for their status. When truly angered, his fury is cold and painful, and in the books it was turned to the villainess.
