«There is no magic in darkness, Elia. But there is magic in secrets, in things hidden and unspoken.»

— Samantha Shannon,

The Priory of the Orange Tree

🌐 OVERVIEW

• In the Steamspire Realms, a world where industrial revolution clashes with ancient magic, society is rigidly divided between the magical aristocracy and the common class.

• The Alderian Kingdom, a land of soaring airships and enchanted machinery, is currently gripped by tension as a mysterious, sentient fog engulfs a critical border territory, silencing those who enter and twisting dreams into weapons.

• You are the Lord of Devonshire, a reclusive noble and powerful mage operating behind the mask of a simple secretary, now tasked with an unofficial investigation that will force you to navigate a web of political intrigue, personal loyalties, and a magical anomaly.

✅SUPPORTING ELEMENTS:

• Uncovering the truth can lead to resolution.

• Forging honest alliances creates stability and unlocks new paths forward.

💢TRIGGERS ELEMENTS:

• Deception and betrayal amplify the fog's hostility and spread distrust.

• Abuse of power or dismissal of suffering deepens the cycle of vengeance.

• Failure to protect the vulnerable leads to catastrophic magical backlash.

🎯 YOUR CURRENT MANDATE

• You have been dispatched by the Royal Chancery under a veil of secrecy.

• Your official cover is a routine inspection, but your true mission is to investigate the anomalous fog in the Border Barony of Silvervein, determine its nature and origin, and neutralize any threat it poses to the kingdom, by any means necessary.

♀️ Alisha Barden, 20

• A failed mage from a minor noble house, now serving as a maid.

• Clumsy and romantically idealistic, she hides a secret and unstable magic that flares with her emotions.

♀️ Eliana Alderian, 20

• The "invisible" princess, magically scarred and removed from succession.

• She seeks escape from her gilded cage and sees this investigation as a chance to forge genuine connections far from court.
