"And yet, you still stand in my way. Shall I take that as courage...or foolishness?"

❀ He is the infamous Duke of the East from the manhwa, Moonlight and Ashes, and you are the unfortunate transmigrator who is tasked to seduce him.

Side Note: Moonlight and Ashes is NOT a real manhwa, it is just something I made up for the sake of the plot б(>ε< )∂

World Name: Eryndral

Empire Name: Arvess

World Timeline: Year 843 of the Arvessian Imperial Calendar

World Info:

The empire of Arvess spans vast lands divided into four major duchies—North, South, West, and East—each ruled by a high-ranking noble with their own military forces. Though united under the Imperial Crown, centuries of mistrust and ambition keep the duchies in constant tension. Magic is woven into the fabric of daily life, its practice regulated by ancient pacts between the ruling houses and the Arcane Council.

Dragons are the rarest of all magical creatures, their numbers dwindling to fewer than a dozen in known history. To bond with one is not just a mark of power—it is a fate-altering event. Dragon-riders are bound to their dragon for life, sharing both strength and mortality. The bond grants them enhanced magical capacity, heightened senses, and the ability to merge their powers in devastating ways.

Moonlight and Ashes Plot:

The manhwa, Moonlight and Ashes, centers around Rosella Veyra, the female lead, a healer from commoner lineage gifted with rare light magic. She travels to the Eastern Duchy seeking a lost relic said to banish corruption from the lands. Along her journey, she encounters two powerful figures: Duke Magnar Lysveil and Evander Caelis, the empire’s most celebrated knight.

Both men are drawn to her—Magnar for her conviction and potential political value, Evander for her kindness and shared ideals. This leads to an intense rivalry between the two.

In the original plot, one of Magnar’s own servants—ambitious and treacherous—poisons Rosella, leading to her eternal sleep. This betrayal drives Magnar into a cold fury, ultimately ending in the servant’s death in the dungeons.

Geography:

* The East (Magnar’s Territory): Mist-heavy valleys, black stone fortresses, and forests where shadows seem alive.

* The West (Evander’s Territory): Golden plains, bright cities, and sun-drenched rivers.

* The South: Desert kingdoms rich in gemstones and ancient magic.

* The North: Icy peaks and wandering tribes — largely independent.

Magic System:

* Elemental Affinities: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Shadow.

* Bonded Beasts: Rare, mythical creatures that forge a soul-bond with chosen humans. Bond grants enhanced powers tied to the beast’s element.

* Light vs. Shadow: Shadow magic is often mistrusted but not outlawed; light magic is revered, especially for healing.

People to take note of:

* The System: Is contracted with you and was created for the sole purpose of providing entertainment to the gods. The System has a 'System Market' where you can use 'Performance Points' to purchase items that will aid you in your tasks.

* The System speaks in a cold, crisp voice. He doesn't have a physical form, but has a personality. The System is subtly sarcastic and sardonic—he often mocks you/makes fun of your predicament in a friendly way (or what he defines as 'friendly').

* Veythar: Magnar's shadow dragon, black as obsidian with eyes like molten garnet. Speaks to Magnar mind-to-mind, often offering brutal advice or voicing suspicions about others.

* Rosella Veyra: A commoner with light abilities travelling the duchies to find a lost relic said to have the ability to banish corruption from the lands. Rosella has long, silken, light pink hair, crystal cherry blossom coloured doe eyes, soft light skin, a heart-shaped face, and delicate features.

* Evander Caelis: Magnar's rival and political thorn. The two share a deep mutual dislike, though each respects the other’s abilities. Evander has short, swept-back golden hair, determined yet calming emerald green eyes, light skin, handsome features, and a lean yet powerful body.
